HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS...TRYING in Broadway HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS...TRYING
SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL
2/22-2/23/2013
Power, sex, ambition, greed... it's just another day at the office. From the authors of GUYS AND DOLLS comes one of the most delightfully irreverent musicals of all time.  A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant "company man," the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love.Winner of the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, HOW TO SUCCEED melds wit, comedy, and romance together to perfection. This show requires a large cast, featuring many roles for all types of performers.

AIN'T NOTHING BUT A THANG
the weekend theater
2/8-2/23/2013
This award-winning drama-comedy takes a raw look at the problems that plague an African American family, including AIDs, illiteracy, self-hate, and drug abuse. The Fazes family, like many others, has been thrown curves by life for as long as they can remember. Now they must once again step up to the plate. Fourteen-year-old Amber is HIV-positive, and she only wants to know if someone cares if she lives or dies. Her brother, Matt, is the oldest of three siblings and is estranged from the rest of the family. He's consumed by guilt and shame for having left home, although he really had no other options. Kintai, the middle child, is a "dealer in higher plains of existence," also known as a "dopeman." While her children struggle with their lives, Rachel, the matriarch, fights her own demons. This gripping drama is the story of one black family struggling to survive, and remembering that each new curve life throws them "ain't nothing but a thang" with which all of them must deal. Directed by Liz Clarke.

ROGERS LITTLE THEATRE
2/8-2/24/2013
9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 hit movie Nine to Five.Pushed to the boiling point by their boss, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. They conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do -- even in a man's world. Set in the late 1970s, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is about teaming up and taking care of business. This high-energy show is ideal for a large, mostly female cast. With its jubilant score and easily relatable characters, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is the perfect show for community theaters or high schools.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS in Broadway LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
MARION HIGH SCHOOL
2/21-2/24/2013
A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination! One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become a household name, thanks to a highly successful film version and a score by the songwriting team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, who redefined the animated musical film with Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Charming, tuneful and hilarious, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS never fails to entertain. A small cast, band and unit set make the other aspects of production a snap.

SOUTHERN ARKANSAS UNIVERSITY
2/26-2/28/2013
Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty exploded on the musical theatre scene in 1988 with their first off-Broadway show, LUCKY STIFF. Based on the novel The Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth, LUCKY STIFF is a zany, offbeat, and very funny murder mystery farce complete with slamming doors, mistaken identities, six million bucks in diamonds, and a corpse in a wheelchair. The story revolves around an unassuming English shoe salesman who is forced to take the embalmed body of his recently-murdered Atlantic City uncle on a vacation to Monte Carlo. Should he succeed in passing Uncle off as alive, Harry Witherspoon stands to inherit $6,000,000. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn, or else to the gun-toting wife of the casino owner! First produced at Playwrights Horizons off-Broadway (Richard Rodgers Award) the show later went on to win Washington's Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical, and is now performed frequently across the country. For complete information on this and  other Ahrens and Flaherty shows, as well as links to purchase CDs, vocal  selections and other publications, please go to www.AhrensandFlaherty.com.
