The deadline for parents to register for the 2012 TheatreSquared Summer Shakespeare Academy, a two-week immersion training program for youth, is Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

TheatreSquared's Summer Shakespeare Academy, scheduled for July 16-27, offers youth aged 10-18 the opportunity to train with professional theatre artists. From 9:30am until 4:30pm each weekday, students train in acting, movement, stage combat, improvisation and design, and then apply these skills in rehearsal for an abridged production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. The production will be performed for parents and members of the public on July 27 at 2pm.  Tuition for the full two-week academy is $275.

"This creative camp is perfect for students who are new to theatre as well as for those who are interested in further developing their skills," said Morgan Hicks, T2 Director of Education and Program Development. "TheatreSquared's professional training is a unique resource in Northwest Arkansas—and a great way for students to access their natural creativity and learn renewed self-confidence."

Parents and grandparents may enroll students for the two-week academy at theatre2.org/training.  To sign up by phone or make inquiries, contact Morgan Hicks at (479) 445-6333.
